TURNAROUND Colour Your Mind

In 1986, the legendary first ep of Australia's Turnaround was released entitled Color Your Mind. Contained Carroll By Candlelight, Francis, Color Your Mind and Suicidal Flowers. One of the top releases of the then neo-psychedelic scene, and probably on top of the Australian bands! Since then the band has released two 7 '' and one lp, while participating in some collections. (We don't forget of course that in 2013 the German Vibravoid covered Color Your Mind in one of their singles). Now, Guerssen comes in and re-releases this ep as a regular album containing the 4 ep songs, their singles, Want Of A Rhyme / Hello Or Goodbye of '87 and Uncle Sydney / Uncle Jack of '90, as well as the unbelievable Paragon-Smythe we heard in a single by the legendary Freakbeat magazine, here we hear it in a different version!! Influenced by the magical english psychedelic scene of the sixties, Pink Floyd was at the top of the list, but also by the 80s, meaning Dukes Of Stratosphear, the Turnaround built their own mythical path to the psychedelic vortex of time! In the digital version there are still 6 songs, Pictures Of Matchstick Men, Astronomy Domine, Theme from Dr. Who and different versions in their other three songs, while the notes belong to Richard Allen, one of the 5-10 people who made me switch to psychedelic music.

Το 1986 είχε κυκλοφορήσει το θρυλικό πρώτο ep των Αυστραλών Turnaround με τίτλο Colour Your Mind. Περιείχε τα Carroll By Candlelight, Francis, Colour Your Mind και Suicidal Flowers. Μία ίσως, από τις κορυφαίες κυκλοφορίες της τότε νεοψυχεδελικής σκηνής και μάλλον στην κορυφή των Αυστραλέζικων συγκροτημάτων! Έκτοτε η μπάντα έβγαλε δυο 7’’ και ένα lp, ενώ είχε συμμετοχή σε μερικές συλλογές. (Δεν ξεχνάμε φυσικά ότι το 2013 οι γερμανοί Vibravoid διασκεύασαν το Colour Your Mind σε σινγκλ τους). Τώρα, έρχεται η Guerssen και επανεκδίδει αυτό το ep σε μορφή κανονικού άλμπουμ το οποίο περιέχει τα 4 τραγούδια του ep, τα σιγκλάκια τους, Want Of A Rhyme/ Hello Or Goodbye του ΄87 και Uncle Sydney/ Uncle Jack του ΄90, καθώς και το ανεπανάληπτο Paragon-Smythe, το οποίο είχαμε ακούσει σε σιγκλάκι του θρυλικού περιοδικού Freakbeat, εδώ το ακούμε σε καπως διαφορετική εκτέλεση!! Με επιρροές από την εγγλέζικη ψυχεδελική σκηνή των σίξτις, οι Pink Floyd βρισκόντουσαν στην κορυφή της λίστας, αλλά και των 80ς, εννοείται από τους Dukes Of Stratosphear, οι Turnaround έκτισαν το δικό τους μυθικό μονοπάτι προς την ψυχεδελική δίνη του χρόνου! Στην digital έκδοση υπάρχουν ακόμα 6 τραγούδια, Pictures Of Matchstick Men, Astronomy Domine, Theme from Dr. Who και διαφορετικές εκτελέσεις σε άλλα τρία τραγούδια τους, ενώ οι σημειώσεις ανήκουν στον Richard Allen, ένας από τους 5-10 ανθρώπους που με έκαναν να στραφώ στην ψυχεδελική μουσική.
