Eldritch Tales of the Americans Space God Ritual is an ode to doom music! All songs are drenched in dark doses of incomparable heavy doom, is slowly in rhythms, the guitars are heavy, bass and drums serve as a wick for voice, while the use of the organ makes the sound totally haunted! The positive with the Space God Ritual, unlike most groups of their kind, is that their sound is the classic sound of the 70s heavy groups and not the sound that dominated the next few years! In some of their songs actually sound ritual, I imagine that the fans will be excited, as I admit I was excited (yes, really!!) by the necromantic woman (Sabbath elegy) and the elder door with the organ's horrifying introduction!

To Eldritch Tales των Αμερικάνων Space God Ritual είναι μια ωδή στην doom μουσική! Όλα τα τραγούδια τους είναι ποτισμένα με σκοτεινές δόσεις απαράμιλλου heavy doom,  είναι αργά σε ρυθμούς, οι κιθάρες είναι βαριές, μπάσο και τύμπανα χρησιμεύουν σαν φυτίλι για την φωνή, ενώ, όπου χρησιμοποιείται το όργανο ακούγεται εντελώς στοιχειωμένο! Το θετικό με τους Space God Ritual, σε αντίθεση με τα περισσότερα γκρουπ του είδους, είναι ότι ο ήχος τους είναι ο κλασικός ήχος των 70ς heavy συγκροτημάτων και όχι ο ήχος ο οποίος κυριάρχησε τα επόμενα χρόνια! Σε ορισμένα τραγούδια τους όντως ακούγονται τελετουργικοί, φαντάζομαι ότι οι φανς θα ενθουσιαστούν, όπως ομολογώ ότι με ενθουσίασαν (ναι, είναι αλήθεια!!) το necromantic woman (Sabbathική ελεγεία) και το the elder door με την τρομαχτική εισαγωγή με το όργανο!

Cherry Choke up in 2007 by the charismatic guitarist/singer Mathew Bethancourt (Josiah, The Kings Of Frog Island ...). This is the third album after their s/t first and A Night in the Arms of Venus, containing 10 songs. Here the three Cherry Choke members, in  the Raising The Waters leave a little bit from the sound of their previous two albums. The race on and black annis are closer to groups such as Zeppelin and generally this hard sound of the 70s. On the other hand, where the sun rises, an acid/sitar/guitar and dark instrumental lament is the introduction to the great psych/groovy 6ix & 7even. In my mind to lose is hard, slow, and seems like it comes out from the first steps of the Sabbath!!! Also, the acoustic-hippy discarded hearts is excellent. Overall we are dealing with another hard, acid, underground and sometimes psychedelic album by Mathew Bethancourt and his pals, which was recorded in the analog studio of Color Haze in Munich.

Οι Cherry Choke δημιουργήθηκαν το 2007 από τον χαρισματικό κιθαρίστα/τραγουδιστή Mathew Bethancourt (Josiah, The Kings Of Frog Island…). Αυτό είναι το τρίτο τους άλμπουμ ύστερα από το ομώνυμο πρώτο τους και το A Night in the Arms of Venus, το οποίο περιέχει 10 τραγούδια. Εδώ οι τρεις  Cherry Choke, στο Raising The Waters φεύγουν λίγο από τον ήχο των δυο προηγούμενων άλμπουμ τους. Τα race on και black annis είναι πιο κοντά σε γκρουπ όπως είναι οι Zeppelin και γενικά αυτός ο hard ήχος των 70ς. Από την άλλη, το where the sun rises, ένας acid/sitar/κιθαριστικός και σκοτεινός instrumental θρήνος είναι η εισαγωγή για το πολύ καλό psych/groovy 6ix & 7even. Το my mind to lose είναι σκληρό, αργό, σαν να ξεπήδησε από τα πρώτα βήματα των Sabbath!!! Επίσης, το ακουστικό-χίπικο discarded hearts είναι εξαιρετικό. Συνολικά έχουμε να κάνουμε με άλλο ένα σούπερ άλμπουμ από τον Mathew Bethancourt και την παρέα του, το οποίο ηχογραφήθηκε στο αναλογικό στούντιο των Color Haze στο Μόναχο.

New Start from Will Z. Of Cosmic Trip Machine is an exquisite ode to cosmichue music, in groups like Ash Ra Temple and Brainticket etc. A space/ambient redemptive pandemonium. The six tracks on the album make a dream state, flowing, gently sneak inside us and lead us directly to distant galaxies. The exquisite folk electricity of jain devotion (parts i-iii) the bad trip of evil namo, the psych-prog masterpiece nefle, the space greatness jain devotion (parts iv-v), it is simply necessary for the proper operation of our soul!! Listen with headphones and with loud volume!!

Το New Start του Will Ζ. των Cosmic Trip Machine είναι μια θεσπέσια ωδή στην cosmichue μουσική, σε γκρουπ όπως οι Ash Ra Temple αλλά και οι Brainticket κλπ. Ένα space/ambient λυτρωτικό πανδαιμόνιο. Τα 6 κομμάτια του άλμπουμ φτιάχνουν μια ονειρική κατάσταση, ρέουν και τρυπώνουν απαλά μέσα μας και μας οδηγούν κατευθείαν σε μακρινούς γαλαξίες. Ο θεσπέσιος φολκ ηλεκτρισμός του jain devotion (parts i-iii) το άσχημο ταξίδι του evil namo, το psych-prog αριστούργημα nefle, το space μεγαλείο του jain devotion (parts iv-v), είναι απλά απαραίτητα για την σωστή λειτουργία της ψυχής  μας!! Ακούστε το με ακουστικά και με μεγάλη ένταση!!

LIGHT BULB ALLEY The Sound Of Things

It's been a while to get excited with a new band! That happened with Light Bulb Alley: Alister Booth (guitar-vocals), Ockert Cool Bananas Greeff (drums), Karlo (bass-harmonica-organ). They come from Canada and this is their first album. Be careful! They don't play something that you haven't heard before and they aren't such skilled players (guitar, bass, and drums). But they have a lot of talent and energy plus vocals that sometimes are quite discordant but that fact is that take off all songs!!! Booth has a magical tone in his voice and the way that sings touched me greatly!!! Their songs are emerged from all the genres of rock'n'roll. Sometimes are blues, other times guitars reminds Velvets. Eye in the Sky is a great acid garage song (in the way Hidden Peace did in the 80's). Their cover in who do you love is simple but stuck in mind. Great songs are 'my love' and 'why don't you' Those are heavier (high energy rock'n'roll called) with screaming vocals shouting for love!!! Plus 'bad day' that recalls Dream Syndicate from the Days Of Wine And Roses period! Sound of things is the most psych song, long time coming is a true 70's punk while the softer songs are tonight (very good) and backslider. The greatest song of the album (and maybe in the last years) is stranger in a stranger town. I can't describe properly how great it is! Moody guitar, bass and drums with vocals and trashy performing are still shudder my body!!! Excellent!!!

Είχα αρκετό καιρό να ενθουσιαστώ με νέο γκρουπ. Οι Light Bulb Alley (Alister Booth κιθάρα + φωνή, Ockert Cool Bananas Greeff τύμπανα, Karlo μπάσο, φυσαρμόνικα και όργανο)  μας έρχονται από τον Καναδά και αυτό είναι το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ. Προσοχή!! Δεν παίζουν τίποτα πρωτότυπο, δεν είναι βιρτουόζοι στα όργανα (κιθάρα, μπάσο, τύμπανα) αλλά διαθέτουν απίστευτο ταλέντο, ενέργεια που κοχλάζει σε κάθε τραγούδι, ενώ η φωνή, παρόλο που μπορεί  να ακούγεται φάλτσα ορισμένες φορές, είναι αυτό που απογειώνει όλα τα τραγούδια! Ο Booth διαθέτει μια μαγική χροιά στη φωνή του και σε συνεργασία με τον τρόπο που τραγουδάει πραγματικά με γοητεύει εξαιρετικά πολύ. Τα τραγούδια τους αγγίζουν αρκετές πτυχές του ροκ ν ρολ. Άλλοτε πλησιάζουν τον μπλουζ ήχο, άλλοτε οι κιθάρες φέρνουν στους Velvet, το eye in the sky είναι μια εξαιρετική acid γκαράζ στιγμή (θυμάστε τους Hidden Peace των 80ς;) η διασκευή στο who do you love είναι απλή αλλά κολλητική, οι κομματάρες my love και why don’t you κινούνται σε πιο σκληρούς ήχους (high energy rock!!???!! ) με την φωνή να στριγγλίζει για αγάπη. Από τα κορυφαία του άλμπουμ, όπως φυσικά και το bad day το οποίο φέρνει ηχητικά στους Dream Syndicate του The Days Of Wine And Roses, το ομώνυμο the sound of things είναι το πιο psych, το long time coming είναι ένα γνήσιο 70ς πανκ, τα tonight (εξαιρετικό), backslider είναι πιο απαλές συνθέσεις, ενώ το καλύτερο τραγούδι τους (και ένα από τα καλύτερα των τελευταίων καιρών) είναι το stranger in a stranger town. Ότι και να γράψω για αυτό το τραγούδι είναι λίγο, μπαλάντα κιθαρας, τυμπανων και μπασου, εντελώς αλήτικη ενώ φωνή + ερμηνεία μου ανατριχιάζουν όλο μου το είναι!

Απλά εξαιρετικό!

The Blind Shake are three people who grapple with the dirty garage punk surf. This that has crazy guitars, that scatter terror to the insects that exist in your home or flying on the ground/ceiling/wall! I write these things mainly for the awesome tar paper that opens this mini album. Otherwise, it features and fly right which is quite spooky and very good with the guitars hit again through to our brain's neurons, the amazing surf/punk a clock, a window, a pyramid while fun has and the tweaked salt. Also, damage seems to have caused in the minds of these three types the Cramps! Which is the less painless way to hear very loud such an album? Of course to put the vinyl in its place, to put the amplifier at 7-8 and leaving running! 100-200 meters distance is well! This volume ratio and distance will make you appreciate it better!

Οι Blind Shake είναι 3 άτομα που καταπιάνονται με το βρώμικο γκαράζ πανκ. Αυτό το οποίο έχει σαλταρισμένες κιθάρες που σκορπάνε τον τρόμο στα έντομα που υπάρχουν στο σπίτι σου, είτε πετούμενα, είτε εδάφους/ταβανιού/τοίχου! Αυτά τα γράφω κυρίως για το τρομερό tar paper που ανοίγει αυτό το μίνι άλμπουμ. Κατά τα άλλα διαθέτει και το fly right το οποίο είναι αρκετά spooky και πολύ καλό με τις κιθάρες πάλι να χτυπούν κατευθείαν στους νευρώνες του εγκεφάλου μας, ενώ χαβαλέ έχει και το πειραγμένο salt. Επίσης, ζημιά φαίνεται ότι έχουν προκαλέσει στα μυαλά των τριών αυτών τύπων οι Cramps! Ποιος ο ποιο ανώδυνος τρόπος για να ακούσεις πολύ δυνατά ένα τέτοιο άλμπουμ; μα φυσικά να τοποθετήσεις το βινύλιο στη θέση του, να βάλεις την ένταση του ενισχυτή στο 7-8 και να το βάλεις στα πόδια! 100 με 200 μέτρα απόστασης είναι καλά! Αυτή η σχέση έντασης και απόστασης θα σε κάνει να το εκτιμήσεις καλύτερα!

This album is a gathering of 7'' (hard to find) by the Useless Eaters which I didn't know of course! The songs moving between punk of the 70s and ... punk of the 70s! Sometimes the sound is catchy and acquire enough interest, as in linear movement, more new wave in mother earth, mainly due to the guitar, more electro in integrated circuit, while there is and I hate the kids where Ty Segall participates. Fans of punk / rock will love the raw sound, the haters will freak out!!

Το άλμπουμ αυτό είναι μια μάζωξη 7ριων (εξαντλημένων ήδη) των Useless Eaters τους οποίους δεν γνώριζα φυσικά! Τα τραγούδια ηχητικά κινούνται μεταξύ του πανκ των 70ς και του πανκ των 70ς! Ενίοτε ο ήχος γίνεται συναρπαστικός και αποκτάει αρκετό ενδιαφέρον, όπως στο linear movement, πιο new wave στο mother earth, κυρίως λόγω κιθάρας, πιο ηλέκτρο στο integrated circuit, ενώ υπάρχει και το I hate the kids στο οποίο συμμετέχει ο Ty Segall. Οι φίλοι του πανκ/ροκ θα ξετρελαθούν με τον τραχύ ήχο τους, οι οχτροί θα φρικάρουν!!
