Οι σουηδοί….μαχαραγιάδες είναι ξανά εδώ, με ακόμα ένα 7’’αρι. Νέο 7’’ ύστερα από 7-8 άλμπουμ, ένα κάρο σιγκλάκια κλπ, από το 1996 που δημιουργήθηκαν! Δυο ροκενρολ γκαραζ δυναμίτες, ένας σε κάθε πλευρά. Το Talkin' To The Man, ένα πιο ζόρικο και ιδανικό για σκονισμένα και θορυβώδη μπαρ, 70ς ροκ’ν’πανκ τραγούδι και το (Let's) Play House, ένα πιο γρήγορο ρ’ν’ρ.

Swedish The Maharajas are here again, with another new release. New 7'' after 7-8 albums, a bunch of singles etc, since 1996 that were created! Two r’n’r garage dynamites, one on each side. Talkin' To The Man, a 70s r'n'/punk song tough and ideal for dusty and noisy bars, and (Let's) Play House, an up-tempo track. Cool single.   

 

SABATTIS Warning In The Sky

Οι Sabattis δημιουργήθηκαν το 1968 από τους Rocky Kaler (μπάσο), Larry Wegman (τυμπανα), Jim Marvin (κιθάρα, φωνή), Gary Culotta (όργανο). Το 1970 ηχογράφησαν ένα ντέμο το οποίο δεν κυκλοφόρησε ποτέ ως ότου φτάσουμε στο 2010 και βγει σε σιντί από την Jargon records. Τώρα, στις 17/11 η Guerssen θα το επανεκδώσει  σε βινύλιο, μαύρο φυσικά αλλά και σε 100 αριθμημένες μπλε κόπιες. Οι Sabattis λοιπόν, έπαιζαν ένα σπουδαίο και εκρηκτικό μείγμα hard rock με τις ψυχεδελικές αναφορές να είναι έντονα διάσπαρτες σε όλα τα τραγούδια, ενώ το Hammond κεντούσε φανταστικές μελωδίες. Αρκεί η ακρόαση του The Devil’s In You για να ενθουσιαστεί ο ανυποψίαστος ακροατής. Για όσους όμως γνωρίζουν την μπάντα τραγούδια όπως τα Everyday Is Cool, Warning In The Sky, φυσικά το The Devil’s In You και τέλος το αριστουργηματικό Conversation with Billy είναι μια απαραίτητη  υπενθύμιση για να κατατάξουμε αυτό το άλμπουμ στα κορυφαία του είδους!

  

The Sabattis were formed in 1968 by Rocky Kaler (bass), Larry Wegman (drums), Jim Marvin (guitar, vocals), Gary Culotta (organ). In 1970 they recorded a demo which was never released until 2010 which was released on CD by Jargon records. Now, on 17/11 Guerssen will reissue it on vinyl, black of course but also in 100 numbered blue copies. Well, Sabattis played a great and explosive mix of hard rock with a lot of psychedelic references heavily throughout the songs, while the hammond-organ was embroidering fantastic melodies. One listen to The Devil's In You is enough to get the unsuspecting listener excited. But for those who know the band, songs like Everyday Is Cool, Warning In The Sky, of course The Devil's In You and finally the masterpiece Conversation with Billy are a necessary reminder to rank this album among the top of the genre!
