Οι γερμανοί Cosmic Kangaroos είναι μια μπάντα η οποία είχε την πρώτη της κυκλοφορία, σε μορφή κασέτας, το 1987!! Έκτοτε συνεχίζουν να υπάρχουν (κατά κάποιο τρόπο) κυκλοφορώντας αραιά και που κάποιο 7’’ ή άλμπουμ. Πιθανολογώ ότι ίσως έχουν περάσει αρκετά χρόνια από την τελευταία τους κυκλοφορία, άλλα όπως μας ενημερώνουν οι ίδιοι, έχοντας εδώ και μερικά χρόνια το δικό τους στούντιο περνάνε αρκετές ώρες εκεί με αποτέλεσμα να έχουν ηχογραφήσει αρκετό υλικό όλον αυτόν τον καιρό. Στην νέα τους κυκλοφορία συμπεριλαμβάνονται 8 τραγούδια, όπου σε αυτά το γερμανικό τρίο επιδίδεται σε ψυχεδελικούς ροκ ή γκαράζ/πανκ ήχους στα μέτρα των Bevis Frond και των Dead Moon. Η κιθάρα μοιάζει να κρατάει το βάρος των συνθέσεων και τύμπανο και μπάσο τον ρυθμό. Εγώ είμαι δοσμένος στα the air from above the mountains το οποίο ανοίγει το βινύλιο, το traffic in the nightsky, το οποίο έχει πολύ ωραία δουλειά στην κιθάρα, το (I don't trust the) Writing on the Wall το οποίο θυμίζει αναβίωση 80ς  και φυσικά το εξαίρετο shortest way out, το πιο ψυχεδελικό τραγούδι του άλμπουμ. Ένα πολύ αξιόλογο άλμπουμ από μια εξαιρετική μπάντα!

The German Cosmic Kangaroos are a band that had their first release, on cassette, in 1987!! Since then, they have continued to exist (in a way) by releasing a single or an album. I guess it may have been several years since their last release, but as they themselves inform us, having had their own studio for a few years now, they spend several hours there, as a result of which they have recorded a lot of material during all this time. Their new release (vinyl lp) includes 8 songs, where the German trio indulges in psychedelic rock or garage/punk sounds in the vein of Bevis Frond and Dead Moon. The guitar seems to hold the weight of the compositions and the drums and bass the rhythm. I'm into "the air from above the mountains" which opens the vinyl, "traffic in the nightsky", which has very nice guitar work, "(I don't trust the) Writing on the Wall " which is reminiscent of a 80s revival and of course the excellent "shortest way out", the most psychedelic song on the album.                       A very remarkable album from an excellent band!!

Ένα διήμερο προς το τέλος του Γενάρη του 2023, τρεις τύποι οι οποίοι έχουν ενεργό ρόλο σε μερικές από τις πιο δραστήριες ψυχεδελικές και όχι μόνο μπάντες, οι Marcel Cultrera (Speck) κιθάρα, Tommy Handschick (Kombynat, Robotron κλπ τύμπανα και Dave Schmidt (Sula Bassana, Zone Six, Interkosmos κλπ) μπασο, synth, μαζεύτηκαν για να τζαμάρουν παρέα. Το αποτέλεσμα αποτυπώθηκε στο πρώτο τους άλμπουμ, το  Bügeln το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε έναν χρόνο αρεγότερα, ενώ τώρα κυκλοφορεί άλλο ένα άλμπουμ με τίτλο Strömung. Δυο εικοσάλεπτα περίπου, κομμάτια καταλαμβάνουν τις πλευρές του βινυλίου. Στην πρώτη ακούμε το stroemung, ένα στην αρχή πιο σπεις κομμάτι όπου κατά την διάρκεια του πηγαίνει σε πιο ψυχεδελικές φόρμες πάντα στον γνώριμο σκληρό ήχο με την κιθάρα να κυριαρχεί, ενώ στην δεύτερη πλευρά  στο welle ο ήχος πλησιάζει στις παρυφές του εξαιρετικα σκληρού και χαλύβδινου space rock, αν θα μου επιτρεπόταν να χρησιμοποιησω αυτό τον ορο!!. Εν κατακλείδι οι MINERALL συνεχίζουν από κει που σταμάτησαν με το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ προσφέροντας άλλα 40 λεπτά έντονων κιθαριστικών αναθυμιάσεων ενίοτε λειτουργικών σε σχέση με την ψυχεδελική έκρηξη.   500 μαύρα βινύλια, αλλά και 100 δίχρωμων βινυλίων συν αφίσα οπού αυτά μπορείτε να τα προμηθευτείτε μόνο κατευθείαν από την Sulatron Records.

For two days towards the end of January 2023, three guys got to jamming together. These guys have an active role in some of the most active psychedelic rock and not only bands, Marcel Cultrera (Speck) on guitar, Tommy Handschick (Kombynat, Robotron etc) on drums and Dave Schmidt (Sula Bassana, Zone Six, Interkosmos etc) on bass, synths. The result was captured in their first album; Bügeln which was released a year later, while now another album is being released entitled Strömung. Approximately two twenty-minute tracks occupy the sides of the vinyl. On the first we hear stroemung, a space rock track at the beginning where during its course it goes into more psychedelic forms always in the familiar hard sound with the guitar dominating, while on the second side in Welle the sound approaches the edge of extremely hard, steely space rock, if I may use that term!!. In conclusion, MINERALL continues from where they left off with their first album, offering another 40 minutes of intense sounds fumes, sometimes functional in relation to the psychedelic, space rock explosion. 500 black vinyls waiting for you, as well as 100 two-tone vinyls plus a poster, which you can only purchase directly from Sulatron Records.
