CARY GRACE Lady of Turquoise

Cary Grace is a very talented American woman who lives in England. The first album was the Book Of Rhythm and released at 2004. Now, 16 years later and a few albums in between, a new double cd are released, titled Lady of Turquoise. Cary Grace (who in addition to writing songs and singing, also plays various instruments) is more or less accompanied by Steve Sharpstrings, Victoria Reyes, Graham Clark, Steve Everitt, Ian East, Andy Bole, Andy Budge and David Payne.13 songs are in this album for almost an one and half hour! The sound is mainly guitaristic with plenty of psychedelic elements. The guitars are really fantastic and they build a deep and thick acid psychedelic wall. At some point I remember the masterpiece of Bob Smith's album The Visit.  The Pink Floyd also seems to have toughed Cary Grace's mind! Really her songs have an inner tension that makes them even more exciting. For example into the dust, the instro khepera at the dawn that opens the album, the afterglow with Grace's recitation, the extraordinarily psychedelic costume jewellery (extended version) and of course the letterbox and (ten-minute +) sacrifice, two extremely amazing songs, with relentless psychedelic guitars. A very exciting release by Cary Grace.

Την αμερικανίδα Cary Grace, η οποία ζει στην Αγγλία, την πρωτοσυναντήσαμε το 2004 με το Book Of Rhythm. Τώρα, 16 χρόνια μετά και κάμποσα  άλμπουμ ενδιάμεσα κυκλοφορεί ένα νέο άλμπουμ, διπλό σιντί παρακαλώ και με τίτλο Lady of Turquoise. Tην Cary Grace (η οποία εκτός του να γράφει τα τραγούδια και να τραγουδάει, παίζει επίσης και διάφορα όργανα) συνοδεύουν λίγο ή πολύ οι Steve Sharpstrings, Victoria Reyes, Graham Clark, Steve Everitt, Ian East, Andy Bole, Andy Budge και ο David Payne.13 τραγούδια υπάρχουν σε αυτό το άλμπουμ διάρκειας  σχεδόν μιάμισης ώρας! Ο ήχος, κυρίως είναι εξόχως κιθαριστικός ροκ με άφθονα ψυχεδελικά στοιχεία, οι κιθάρες πραγματικά είναι εξαιρετικές και χτίζουν ένα βαθύ και πηχτό acid ψυχεδελικό τοίχο. Σε κάποια σημεία μου έρχεται στο νου το άλμπουμ του Bob Smith, το αριστουργηματικό The Visit, ενώ φυσικά και οι Floyd μοιάζει να έχουν χαϊδέψει στοργικά το μυαλό της! Πραγματικά τα τραγούδια της έχουν μια εσωτερική ένταση η οποία τα κάνει ακόμη πιο συναρπαστικά. Λόγου χάρη τα into the dust, το ινστρο khepera at the dawn το οποίο ανοίγει το άλμπουμ, το afterglow με την απαγγελία της Grace, το απίθανα ψυχεδελικό costume jewellery στην μεγάλη εκτέλεση και φυσικά το letterbox και το (δεκάλεπτο +) sacrifice, δυο εξαιρετικά συμπαγή τραγούδια, με αδυσώπητα ψυχεδελικές κιθάρες.
