DOCTORS OF SPACE Covid Sessions

Space Rock Productions

These doctors are two experts in space and how to cure it while traveling in it!! Dr. Space (Scott Heller) and Dr. Martin Weaver. Both of them, as genuine doctors of space, suggest us 9 treatments without, of course, any side effects!! Except of course the side effect of deep enjoyment as we ascend high to infinity. Okay, here one Dr. has taken over the synths and the other Dr. the drums, bass and guitars. The sounds that spring up on this 74-minute album are insurmountable space/rock music but sometimes the sounds, without moving away from it, throw other rays of different music, such as in Afro Ghost Ritual 47, where the drums seems to come from the depths of some forgotten tribal of the jungle (or another planet ?!). Or Funky Caca which is a demonized funk/space with guitars giving commands, bass and drums obeying and effects sending the song in other galaxies. Let me also tell you that From The Depths Of The Universe is simply one of the most futuristic songs of the last decade. So as not to tire you more, let me just tell you one more thing!! Doctors Of Space's Covid Sessions is an unexpectedly inspiring album that looks like the spacecraft leading the fleet with the mission of fully understanding the unexpected!

It is recommended for repeated listening until we feel the feeling that a black hole is attacking us!!

BLISS s/t

Out-Sider

The Bliss from Arizona, formed from the ashes of The Sect, a garage band with one single, around 1969. This new band made its appearance as a trio, with Martin (bass), Reed (guitar), Aldred (drums) and their sound much louder and harder than a  garage band. In terms of sound, they were closer to bands such as Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix, etc., adding of course plenty of blues touches, while also lacking some psychedelic elements. Fuzzy guitars, loud drums, lots of explosive moments and some covers of songs by Joe Tex, BB King etc. A heavy-psychedelic-blues album which had gone unnoticed until the mid-'00s. I think with this reissue it will get the right place in our vinyl library. Ride The Ship Of Fools (with psychedelic-guitar break) and Cry For Love are two amazing songs Great reissue!!

ZARPA Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis

 Sommor

Zarpa Rock, a Spanish band later renamed Zarpa, was formed in 1977 by four young friends of Vicente Feijóo on lead vocals and lead guitar, Eduardo Feijóo on bass and vocals, Javier Herviás on guitar and Jesús Martinez on drums. They recorded this album, live within an hour and a half due to low budget and the sound of the songs is sharp, primitive and rough. But the bankruptcy of Zeus Rock hang the album on...long darkness. The sound of Zarpa was a wild and relentless early metal, with fuzz & wah wah guitar, cool vocals and 5 songs of hard rock aesthetics. I lost my mind with the tracks Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis and of course with El Hambre. Two amazing songs in which Zarpa unfold their extraordinary talent.                                            That is the first reissued in vinyl, where we can find many photos etc from Vicente Feijóo's archive. .                             The many fans of early metal, hard rock and guitars and raw vocals explosions will be thrilled.

DR. SPACE Lost in the Space Time Continuum

Space Rock Productions

Scott Heller (Dr. Space) seized the lockdown opportunity and recorded, among other things, these 7 tracks, between March and April of '20. With titles like galaxy 294846, xtrapolation, shane's aura, of course the title track of the album lost in the space time continuum, etc, it gives you the feeling that throughout this synths-based, musical flatulence, you are perched on a comet, where depending on the intensity of each piece you alternate its speed! Sometimes is dark, sometimes is bright and sometimes hypnotic, and creates disproportionate thoughts in your mind in which you are left and wait to explode in to the  vacuum!!                                                   Electronic concerns, ambient conversations and space searches.
