The Octopus Syng from Finland after their last album titled Hollow Ghost / Rochelle Salt return with the Victorian Wonders. As in their previous releases, so here, Barrett's spirit dominates the bizarre and romantic musical stories that tell us. Eerie sound, incredibly trippin’ songs, weird vocal, exciting melodies, what else to ask for!!!! The recording is highly psychedelic totally sixties and they sound like an English band of course! The female vocals that are either back or either first (these precious summer nights) are fabulous. And, oh my Morrison!!! all the songs are amazing!! I don’t remember if I wrote the same as for the previous album of Octopus Syng, but no matter since I believe that these songs and this album is another amazing masterpiece! And okay, although it's been around 50 years since from the album of Syd Barrett, “Barrett” and “The Madcap Laughs” but listening to these atmospheric songs have the feeling that splash even in those times. And guys, what incredible song is the 19th century romanticism, with the brilliant recitation!!!
A masterpiece, one of the best in 2018!!!

Οι Φιλανδοί Octopus Syng ύστερα από το τελευταίο τους άλμπουμ με τίτλο Hollow Ghost / Rochelle Salt επιστρέφουν με το Victorian Wonders. Όπως και στις προηγούμενες κυκλοφορίες τους, έτσι και δω, το πνεύμα του Barrett κυριαρχεί στις αλλόκοτες και ρομαντικές μουσικές ιστορίες που μας διηγούνται. Απόκοσμος ήχος, απίστευτα τριπαριστές συνθέσεις, ιδιαίτερα φωνητικά, συναρπαστικές μελωδίες, τι άλλο να ζητήσει κανείς λοιπόν!!!! Η ηχογράφηση είναι εξόχως ψυχεδελική, είναι σίξτις εννοείται ο ήχος εγγλέζικος φυσικά, τα γυναικεία φωνητικά που είτε συνοδεύουν είτε είναι μπροστά (these precious summer nights) είναι παραμυθένια και τέλος όλα τα τραγούδια είναι εκπληκτικά!! Δεν θυμάμαι αν έγραφα τα ίδια και για το προηγούμενο άλμπουμ των Octopus Syng, δεν έχει όμως σημασία μιας και πιστεύω οτι αυτά τα τραγούδια, αυτό το άλμπουμ, είναι άλλο ένα αριστουργηματικό δημιούργημα! Και εντάξει, αν και έχουν περάσει κοντά 50 χρόνια από από τα Barrett και The Madcap Laughs ακούγοντας αυτά ατ τραγούδια έχεις την αίσθηση οτι πλατσουρίζεις ακόμα σε εκείνες τις εποχές.

Και ρε παιδιά, τι απίστευτο τραγούδι είναι αυτό το 19th century romanticism, με την ασσύληπτη απαγγελία;
