SUN DIAL Science Fiction, A Compendium Of Space Soundtracks

Okay, I don't think there's anyone serious about the so-called neo-psychedelic music scene that doesn’t knowing this great English band and its mind behind them, Gary Ramon! Since the 90's and with their first legendary album, Other Way Out, up to the present day, Sun Dial has always fed us with some great typical lps of English psychedelic music. But in their previous album, Made In The Machine, Sun Dial, we were presented with an electronic kraut album where guitars played little role. Here, in Science Fiction, A Compendium Of Space Soundtracks, the music seems to continue from where they had stopped at Made In The Machine. Electronic space/kraut music, without lyrics of course, synths get fire and space is near!! From the first track of the album, hangar 13, Ramon gives us the mark of it will follow! Electronic space music, sounds and moods beyond this world. There are, of course, some tracks such as saturn return, space travel, hangar 13 of course (in both versions, regular but also the one that is a bonus on the cd and lasts more than 15 minutes), the airlock, a space oriental piece!!!, infra red, which literally bruised my mind !!!
Okay, I confess, I am not the biggest fan of electronic music, whether it ends up in space music or anywhere else.

But I'm a big fan of Sun Dial!!

Εντάξει, δεν νομίζω να υπάρχει κάποιος που να ασχολείται σοβαρά με την λεγόμενη νεοψυχεδελική μουσική σκηνή και να μην γνωρίζει το σπουδαίο αυτό εγγλέζικο συγκρότημα, καθώς και τον δημιουργό του, τον Gary Ramon! Από την δεκαετία του ΄90 και με το πρώτο τους θρυλικό άλμπουμ, το Other Way Outs, μέχρι και τις μέρες μας, οι Sun Dial πάντα μας τροφοδορούσαν με ορισμένα χαρακτηριστικά δείγματα εγγλέζικης ψυχεδελικής μουσικής. Στο προηγούμενο άλμπουμ τους όμως, με τίτλο Made in the Machine οι Sun Dial, μας παρουσίασαν ένα ηλεκτρονικό κρουατ δημιούργημα, όπου οι κιθάρες έπαιζαν ελάχιστο ρόλο. Εδώ, στο Science Fiction, a compendium of space soundtracks οι μουσικές δείχνουν να συνεχίζουν απο κει που είχαν σταματήσει στο Made in the Machine. Ηλεκτρονική space/kraut μουσική, χωρίς στίχους φυσικά, τα synths παίρνουν φωτιά και το διάστημα είναι κοντά!! Από το πρώτο κομμάτι του άλμπουμ, το hangar 13 o Ramon μας δίνει το στίγμα του τη θα ακολουθήσει! Ηλεκτρονική space μουσική, ήχοι και διαθέσεις πέρα απο αυτόν τον κόσμο. Υπάρχουν φυσικά και ορισμένα κομμάτια όπως ειναι το saturn return, space travel, το hangar 13 φυσικά (και στις δυο εκτελέσεις, την κανονική αλλα και αυτή που ειναι μπόνους στο σιντί και διαρκεί πάνω από 15 λεπτά) , το airlock, ενα space ανατολίτικο κομμάτι!!!, το infra red, τα οποία στην κυριολεξία μου μπουρμπουλήθριασαν τον εγκέφαλο!!!

Εντάξει, το ομολογώ, δεν ειναι ο μεγαλύτερος φαν της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής, είτε αυτή καταλήγει σε space αναφορές είτε οπουδήποτε αλλού. Είμαι όμως φαν των Sun Dial!!
