The Swedish Battre Lyss, created between 1973-74 by Rolf Hammarlund (voice, bass) and Christer Palmquist (voice, piano, acoustic guitar). They started writing their first songs in English, but very soon - and with the addition of Rolf Johansson to drums - they began to record using their mother tongue. With the help of three guitarists, a fluff-saxophonist, and an organ player, they recorded Till Den Strang Som Brast A Attrig Spanna En Bage and released on their own private label in 1975.

Now, after 43 years, Sommor has been re-released and gives us the opportunity to meet them! The Battre Lyss, influenced by the sound that prevailed at the time, was, as you can understand, a rock, hard/rock band, with some more prog extensions to their sound and several soft ballads. The friends of the particular sound will be placated with the band's characteristic melodic compositions, but I’m stuck with the sagan om viggen, a sixth+ song, which is an ode in psych/prog/hard music

Οι Σουηδοί Battre Lyss, δημιουργήθηκαν μεταξύ 1973-74 απο τους Rolf Hammarlund (φωνή, μπάσο) και Christer Palmquist (φωνή, πιαάνο, ακουστική κιθάρα). Άρχισαν να γράφουν τα πρώτα τους τραγούδια στα αγγλικά, αλλά πολύ σύντομα-και με την προσθήκη του Rolf Johansson στα τύμπανα-άρχισαν να ηχογραφούν χρησιμοποιώντας τη μητρική τους γλώσσα. Με την βοήθεια τριών κιθαριστών,ενός φλαουτίστα-σαξοφωνίστα, καθώς και ενός οργανίστα ηχογράφησαν το Till Den Strang Som Brast An Att Aldrig Spanna En Bage το οποίο κυκλοφόρησαν μόνοι τους το 1975. Τώρα, ύστερα απο 43 ολόκληρα χρόνια, η Sommor το επανεκδίδει και μας δίνει τν ευκαιρία να τους γνωρίσουμε! Οι Battre Lyss λοιπόν, επηρεασμένοι απο τον ήχο που επικρατούσε εκείνη την εποχή, ήταν, όπως μπορείτε να καταλάβετε, μια χαρντ ροκ μπάντα, με κάποιες πιο prog προεκτάσεις στον ήχο τους και αρκετές απαλές μπαλάντες. Οι φίλοι του συκεκριμένου ήχου θα πάθουν πλάκα με τις χαρακτηριστικές μελωδικές συνθέσεις της μπάντας, εγώ όμως έπαθα πλάκα με το sagan om viggen, ένα εξάλεπτο + τραγούδι, το οποίο είναι μια ωδή στην psych/prog/hard μουσική
