I think in La Grande Belleza the
SONS, and in relation to their previous album, are deep more towards in
psychedelic/atmospheric music, creating electronic of
course, but more esoteric tracks finally. Of course the new-kraut sound,
ambient and space moods overflowing, while some experiments also appear. Of
course in such a marriage of sound there is a risk for any such album and band,
to become like a silly and boring bubblegum. But SONS, unlike many other
groups, have the talent and genius to not fall into this trap, and mainly have
the talent to write some excellent songs such as bundesgartenschau ‘71, the ambient delirium of garten des lichtes, the most groovy
kraut spandau and the masterful space
schwurbel!

Νομίζω ότι στο La Grande Belleza οι SONS, και σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα άλμπουμ
τους, έχουν αφεθεί περισσότερο προς την ψυχεδέλεια, δημιουργώντας ηλεκτρονικά
μεν, αρκούντος πιο ψυχεδελικά κομμάτια δε. Φυσικά ο new-kraut ήχος, η ambient και οι space διαθέσεις ξεχειλίζουν, ενώ και κάποιοι
πειραματισμοί εμφανίζονται. Φυσικά σε τέτοιου είδους παντρέματα ελλοχεύει ο
κίνδυνος να καταντάει οποιοδήποτε τέτοιο άλμπουμ και γκρουπ, σαν μια ανόητη και
βαρετή τσιχλόφουσκα. Οι SONS όμως, σε αντίθεση με πολλά άλλα γκρουπ, έχουν το ταλέντο και
την ιδιοφυία να μην πέφτουν σε αυτή την παγίδα, και κυρίως έχουν το χάρισμα να
γράφουν ορισμένα εξαιρετικά τραγούδια όπως είναι το bundesgartenschau ‘71, το ambient παραλήρημα του garten des lichtes, το πιο γκρουβαριστό kraut spandau και το
αριστουργηματικό space schwurbel!
