Οι Zone Six δημιουργήθηκαν από τον Dave Schmidt (Sula Bassana, Interkosmos, Electric Moon κλπ) το 1997 και έκτοτε έχουν αμέτρητες κυκλοφορίες. Το Full Mental Jacket είναι επηρεασμένο από τον πόλεμο στην Ουκρανία και χρειάστηκε περίπου ένα χρόνο για να τελειώσουν οι ηχογραφήσεις! Για τις ηχογραφήσεις αυτών των τραγουδιών η μπάντα ήταν οι Manuel Wohlrab-Guitar, fx, Pablo Carneval/Bernhard Fasching-Drums, Dave Schmidt-Bass, Synth, keyboards, ενώ συμμετείχαν και οι Rainer Neeff (Pancakes κλπ) κιθάρα στο Slingshot και ο θρυλικός Gottfried Klier (Engerling) στο σαξόφωνο στο ίδιο τραγούδι. Τρία τραγούδια μεγάλης διάρκειας, το Slingshot καταλαμβάνει ολόκληρη την πρώτη πλευρά (19.55) και το οποίο είναι ένα kraut/space όργιο με το σαξόφωνο να προσπαθεί να επαναφέρει την μπάντα στον πλανήτη γη!! Στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος σχεδόν και το Full Mental Jacket (10.00) στο οποίο το όργανο πραγματικά με ‘στειλε μακρυά! Το Chrono Trigger (9.55) νομίζω ότι είναι το αυτό που απλώνει την μαγική ψυχεδελική αύρα αυτής της μπάντας ολούθε! Ένα ατόφιο kraut rock άλμπουμ, space rock αισθητικής όμως, στο οποίο φυσικά αιωρούνται νήματα ψυχεδελικής συνείδησης!!

Zone Six was formed by Dave Schmidt  (Sula Bassana, Interkosmos, Electric Moon etc) in 1997 and has since released countless releases. Full Mental Jacket is influenced by the war in Ukraine and took about a year to finish recordings! For the recordings of these songs the band was Manuel Wohlrab: Guitar, fx, Pablo Carneval/Bernhard Fasching: Drums, Dave Schmidt: Bass, Synth, keyboards. There are two guest musicians here, Rainer Neeff (Pancakes etc) guitar in Slingshot and the legendary Gottfried Klier (Engerling) on sax in the same track. Three long songs, Slingshot takes up the entire first side (19.55) and is a kraut/space orgy with the sax trying to bring the band back to planet earth!! Almost on the same wavelength as Full Mental Jacket (10.00) in which the organ really sends me far away! Chrono Trigger (9.55) I think is   that spreads the magical psychedelic aura of this band all around!! An apothecary kraut rock album, space rock aesthetic though, in which of course there are threads of psychedelic consciousness!!

Ο παλιόφιλος, ο Gary Ramon (φωνή, κιθάρες, χάμοντ, vox continental), είναι ξανά εδώ! Με την εκλεκτή παρέα του, Scorpio (μπάσο, moog taurus, τύμπανα), Cleo Ramon (mellotron, moog filters, jupiter 6) μας παρουσιάζουν το δέκατο άλμπουμ των θρυλικών Sun Dial. Το πιο κοντινό σε ήχο, συναίσθημα, μελωδίες, και αίσθηση στο αριστουργηματικό πρώτο τους, το Other Way Out. Ύστερα λοιπόν από ορισμένα πιο kraut ηχητικά άλμπουμ ο Ramon επιστρέφει στις πιο κλασικές ψυχεδελικές φόρμες, ξέρετε εσείς, ορισμένες ασυναγώνιστες acid κιθάρες, η γνώριμη φωνή του, οι ταξιδιάρικες συνθέσεις. Στην πρώτη πλευρά ο ήχος είναι πιο κλασικός Sun Dial ήχος, μαγικές μελωδίες, το μελλοτρον και το όργανο κουμπώνουν εξαιρετικά με την κιθάρα, ενώ υπάρχουν 5 τραγούδια με κορυφαία όλων (κατά την γνώμη μου φυσικά) τα  Echoes All Around και το απίθανο Look Up To The Skies! Στην δεύτερη πλευρά κυριαρχεί το krautrock και τραγούδια όπως το Edge Of Light (το σόλο στο όργανο είναι πραγματικά περίφημο) και τα Messages From The Mothership, Saucer Noise, ρέουν και ισορροπούν με φαντασμαγορικό τρόπο τόσο στο kraut όσο και στην space rock, αλλά και στους ήχους που μοιάζουν να έρχονται από το μυαλό ενός αλλόκοτου και θεσπέσιου μυαλού. Ο νέος δίσκος των Sun Dial είναι μια φωτεινή διάπλαση ενός άστρου που μοιάζει να ξεκινάει από την αρχή το ταξίδι αυτής της θαυμάσιας στα αλήθεια μπάντας!

Our old friend, Gary Ramon (vocals, guitars, hammond, vox continental), is here again! With some great guys, Scorpio (bass, moog taurus, drums), Cleo Ramon (mellotron, moog filters, jupiter 6) they present us the tenth album of the legendary Sun Dial. This album is the closest in sound, feeling, melodies, and feel to their masterpiece debut, Other Way Out. So after some more kraut sounding albums Ramon returns to the more classic psychedelic forms, you know, some unbeatable acid guitars, his familiar voice and aboev all fabulous tracks. On the first side the sound is a more classic Sun Dial sound, unbeatable melodies, the mellotron and the organ join very well with the guitar, and there are 5 songs but the  "Echoes All Around" and the incredible "Look Up To The Skies", blow my mind! The second side is dominated by krautrock and songs like Edge Of Light (the organ solo is really fantastic) and Messages From The Mothership, Saucer Noise, flow and balance fantastically in both kraut and space rock. Those sounds it seems to come from the mind of an unearthly extraordinary man for sure. Sun Dial's new record is a bright incarnation of a star that seems to be starting its journey all over again!

Το απίθανο ταξίδι των Astral Magic, την μπάντα του Santtu Laakso δηλαδή, συνεχίζεται με γοργούς ρυθμούς στο άπειρο σύμπαν. Ο νέος του πλανήτης εξερευνήθηκε και του δόθηκε ο τίτλος Sacred Mysteries! 9 νέοι δορυφόροι βρίσκονται σε τροχιά γύρω του, 9 τρόποι δηλαδή προσέγγισης. Εδώ, τον Santtu Laakso συνοδεύουν σε κάποια τραγούδια οι εκλεκτοί φίλοι του και συνταξιδιώτες Anton Barbeau & Taavi Heikkilä, ενώ το mastering έγινε από τον Jonathan Segel. Εγώ θα ανέβω στους διάφανους και κρυστάλλινους δορυφόρους Mystics From Outer Space, Blow Your Mind, Phases, Close Encounter  για να αφουγκραστώ τις νέες περιπέτειες του συναρπαστικού αυτού τύπου. Άλλο ένα καταπληκτικό space-rock άλμπουμ από την καταπληκτική αυτή μπάντα..

 

The incredible trip of Astral Magic, Santtu Laakso's band, continues with  fast pace in the infinite universe. His new planet was explored and given the title Sacred Mysteries! 9 new satellites are in orbit around it, 9 ways of approaching it. Here, Santtu Laakso is accompanied on some songs by his friends and fellow travelers Anton Barbeau & Taavi Heikkilä, while the mastering was done by Jonathan Segel.. I'll climb to the transparent and crystalline satellites Mystics From Outer Space, Blow Your Mind, Phases, Close Encounter to listen to the new adventures of this exciting guy.
