THOUGHT BUBBLE Around

 Dirty Filthy Records

After years of wandering around the fertile English psychedelic and space scene, keyboardist Chris Cordwell and percussionist Nick Raybould have create the Thought Bubble, a more electronic form of their overall experience. "Around" is their first album which is released on 250 orange vinyls and includes 6 tracks, with very little vocals. The music in these 6 songs is deeply electronic, but the analog drums, the guitars, the clarinet give to these songs a more earthy dimension. So in the 6 tracks of this vinyl, the waves, beatwave, mobius trip, rat race, fluctuate, devoider, the moods of our English friends start their journey from fiery electronic craft starships, they sink into kraut situations, they take a break in more ambient sounds and ideally close their journey to our inner worlds, with the incredible devoider, a piece in which the Thought Bubble give us their exact musical stigma.

Extra interesting release!

MENK II

Menk are two people from St. Petersburg, Russia and II is their last release at the moment. Their music is drone, it is psychedelic, it has kraut elements, and it is intoxicating and addictive. The sounds first seem to swirl and become entangled in hazy guitar tones and later erupt and alter our perceptual abilities. With songs like Блажь, Сон,  Рассвет, but also Нарайана, Menk manage to immerse us in their immensely magical world. Do i need to speak more?

THE PEPPERMINT TROLLEY CO. The Peppermint Trolley Company

Out-Sider

The Peppermint Trolley Co. from Californian   was released their only album in 1968, and also they had been preceded   3-4 singles. Their music was a sunny blend of pop, baroque-rock, folk, but also light psychedelic sounds. The band members were Danny Faragher, Jimmy Faragher, Greg Tornquist, Casey Cunningham, and, for a time, Patrick McClue. Influenced by the big bands of that time, Doors, Beatles, Stones, but also by the Beach Boys vocals, The Peppermint Trolley Co. recorded 11 songs dominated by vocal harmonies and of course the harpsichord, while pop aesthetics emerge from each song on the album. Among all these songs of The Peppermint Trolley Co. the ones that stand out and which gave them a good place in the pantheon of 60s psychedelic/pop music, are Put Your Burden Down, Beautiful Sun, Sunrise, Fatal Fallacy.                  A highly melodic pop album for which this reissue is the first official and is expected to sold out soon!

Dusky Dive Flanger Studio Session

Addicted label

At the Flanger Studio Session the Dusky Dive recorded 6 live songs. 6 songs flooded with heavy/rock sounds created by guitar- Sergey Plishka, drums - Grigory Perelman, bass & vocals Aleksey Stanchinskiy as well as one demonized baritone saxophone- Ivan Izmalkin. Definitely the result is interesting, it has stoner expansion, progressive smells, some psychedelic touches, jazz beats, (maybe they had got in their minds The Ex), desert rock moods that float like the smoke coming out of the lamp. Hot, very loud and cool.

GREY MOUSE A Moment of Weakness

 Addicted Label

Grey Mouse comes from Moscow. It's a band that released their first album entitled No Masks, in 2005. Their music is a great mix of psychedelic, experimental, stoner rock, sitar-psych, blues rock, progressive etc.  They make sure to dress their music beautifully with other instruments such as the sitar, leading them to more mystical musical peculiarities. Grey Mouse likes the changes as the only band members who are consistent on each of their albums are Alex Chunikhin (bass guitar) and Kirill Chunikhin (drums). In this new release, they are accompanied by Mikhail Kudrey - vocals, Uliana Volkova - cello and Denis Bayukansky - drums (Better than Me, On The Run, Suicide Song). On In A Moment of Weakness what stands out directly is the amazingly expressive, hypnotic, wonderful voice of Kudrey, which fits perfectly with the songs of the album and flows dreamily in each of them. Apart from the voice, however, there is also a cello which coats the songs with a very thin layer of gothic mood. Really, listening to the songs of A Moment of Weakness one by one, I came across an album which is not far from being characterized as one of the top albums of the modern era. The playing of all the instruments stands at high levels, the orchestrations are impeccable, the 8 songs are hypnotic and without being purely psychedelic they sound like they are the most psychedelic songs you have ever heard from a new band!! Special mention should be made of the extremely  dark road, the  on the run  which looks like the most psychedelic song that Sabbath failed to record, as well as the  suicide song , one fantastic  pure blues/americana/dark song, with guitar and  cello  as the only accompaniment to Kudrey's recitation. Just magical!!                Τhe inner psychedelic flame of the band is inconceivable!!! Recommended!
